Bailey Finch Recruitment Specialists have pleasure in assisting our client with the role of Duty Operations Supervisor who support the Management team in managing the Cargo Warehouse operations.

Key Responsibilities:

Operational Focus
•    Ensures completion of shifts tasks and processes all paperwork necessary to ensure a smooth operation.
•    Monitor the operation and report any customer issues to the Duty Manager.
•    Ensure a comprehensive handover to colleagues on next shift.
•    Undertake the roles and responsibilities of the Terminal Manager or Duty Manager when required.
•    Responsible for the delivery of SLAs and the contractual obligations to the customer.
•    Ensure continuous effective customer service delivery at all times.
•    Ensure compliance of Health, Safety and Security policies and procedures on your shift.

Staff Focus
•    Supervision of all staff on a shift basis and responsibility for staff timekeeping.
•    Ensure all company-related information and operational updates are effectively communicated to all staff.
•    Involvement in the performance management process for staff; providing feedback,  praise and informal counseling to staff where necessary and mentoring new starters.
•    Take an active part in planning staff training in order to maintain the skills required to effectively and efficiently serve the customer; identifying training needs and development plans for all staff.
•    Upholding staff discipline and ensuring company codes of conduct are adhered to.
•    Take an active part in motivating the shift and resolving any staff issues by maintaining workplace ethics.

Desirable Skills, Experience and Knowledge

•    Thorough working knowledge of the airfreight handling business and an awareness of customers' requirements and procedures.
•    Ability to motivate, lead and supervise staff.
•    Excellent team player who displays leadership skills, demonstrating dependability, flexibility and initiative.
•    Able to demonstrate strong customer service and problem resolution skills.
•    Excellent interpersonal and communication skills in order to effectively communicate with staff and customers face-to- face, over the phone and in writing.
•    Good administration, PC and keyboard skills.
•    Tact and diplomacy.
•    Cultural awareness of customer base.
