Senior Project Accountant

Bailey Finch Associates have pleasure in assisting our client with the role of  Senior Project Accountant within their business.

The role will involve:

Manage the finances on assigned project and be the Finance Business Partner to the Project Management Team

Main Duties & Responsibilities
 
Management of accounting systems and processes including reconciliation of records and system access.

Ensure accounting system is accurate and up to date with revenue and costs so as to ensure optimum input in application process to client, cost control and cash forecasting.

Monitoring of costs to ensure full cost capture and that only appropriate costs are booked to contract.

Reconciliation of ledgers to be carried out regularly.
Monitoring of costs against forecast and tender. 
Reconciliation of staff rates used for target cost against actual staff costs invoiced.
Preparation, review and analysis of cash forecast
Ensure that the Finance shared service function provides appropriate financial services.
Responsible for review and improvement of internal financial controls and business processes.
Managing audits on site (finance and client) and ensure any outstanding issues are closed out.
Managing cost clerks and other finance support staff as required on contract. 
Timely production of accurate relevant monthly financial information to Operating Unit and senior contract management and JV partner.
Assist the project management team in preparation of quarterly forecasts for the project
Preparation of VAT returns and provision of other financial information for statutory returns as appropriate.
 
 Skills, Experience & Qualifications required
 
Accountancy qualification – ACA, ACCA, ACMA
Good knowledge of accounting and up to date knowledge of financial and management accounting practices.
Experience in a finance role within the construction industry and good knowledge of long term contract accounting.
