This is an exciting opportunity for an Accounts Assistant. You will need to have good experience of performing accounting duties in a small/medium sized business and working in a fast paced environment. The successful candidate must be a graduate. Only people who are quick to learn, show great enthusiasm and are looking to improve processes will be considered. This role will report to the Finance Manager and is a full time role.
Responsibilities/Job Content
- Preparation of monthly/Weekly payment runs for experienceand non-experience providers in UK, France, Spain and Italy.
- Investigate all pricing queries that arise and resolve these timely and in a professional manner with help from the Buying teams.
- Preparation review and pay all individual Staff expense
- Complete analysis of above payments for review by the Financial Manager
- Regular liaison with Buying and other departments department on pricing queries, proper authorisation for invoice signing, expense forms.
- Posting and dealing with queries on the tangible invoices.
- Preparation of monthly invoices for Third Party and Corporate clients.
- Collection of all sums due from these clients on due dates, including calling to chase outstanding debts.
- Reconciliation of income received from B to C clients for Spain against system records, to ensure sales are recorded accurately and correctly, investigating all queries arising.
- Issuing international refunds for the customers and posting on in-house system.
- Download Spanish/Italian bank account and categorize
- Continually critique and improve existing processes and procedures
Performance Standards
- Production of accurate and comprehensive payment runs
- Production of monthly trade debtors and cash collection statements
- Meet all invoice and payment deadlines and resolve all related queries
- Apply all bank mandates and ensure proper authorisation for all invoices
Must have:
- Experience in accounting – ideally using Sage or other accounting packages
- Graduate with fluency in English
- Excel skills and also data warehouse knowledge
- Quick learner and someone with lots of drive
- Ability to deliver to deadlines
- Ability to confidently deal with suppliers and staff from the UK and some overseas
- Outgoing, friendly but firm personality
