Job Description
My client, world Class Aerospace Engineering Company is currently seeks an experienced Stress Engineer with an in-depth knowledge and understanding of stress analysis and FEM in aerospace applications.
Ideally knowledgeable or at least willing to learn about various Additive Manufacturing (AM) processes, you will be responsible for the creation of new Quality procedures for the design of both legacy and novel components built using AM. You will be responsible for the development of new design rules for the production of AM parts, the successful candidate will work closely with a Materials Scientist and a Test Engineer, leading design active.
Essential skills and Experience
- Degree-qualified (or equivalent) Stress Engineer
- Aerospace design experience not essential but would be an advantage e.g. covering aero-structures and / or aero-engines
- Proven track record in stress analysis
- Demonstrated ability to use standard FEM tools, such as PATRAN/NASTRAN and / or similar
- Methodical and logical approach to problem-solving
- Experienced team-worker
- Ability to communicate technical findings clearly to colleagues and collaborators
- Knowledge of HyperMesh and particularly OptiStruct would be a definite advantage
- Experience of research and development would be welcome
