Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

The successful candidate will provide technical assistance to all departments in respect to design, manufacture, and quality issues as well as supporting the design engineers in the production of detailed drawing packages.

As a Senior Design Technician your main responsibilities will be to work in conjunction with engineers and production teams to bring tasks/projects to work in completion within stipulated time and cost limits. To assist in gathering all necessary data, design layouts and investigate individual aspects of design for presentation at project and design review meetings. To produce manufacturing drawing/documentation sets and effect all required dimensional and tolerance calculations.

Other responsibilities will also include:

• To investigate drawing and documentation Request for Changes and execute any necessary changes.

• To provide technical assistance to all departments in respect of design, manufacture and quality issues.

• To liaise with other departments, customers, suppliers, consultants and authorities as required.

• Assist the Team Leader in the formulation of mechanical design strategy and continual process improvement, in support of the company business and strategic objectives.

• Undertake any further engineering related tasks commensurate with this post as required by the design services team leader.
