Bailey Finch Associates are delighted to assist our client with the role of Assistant Warehouse Manager based in Exeter.

Summary of Role:-

This role is based at the Exeter Branch reporting to the Warehouse Manager. The post holder will support the Warehouse Manager in managing the operational processes to ensure the effective flow of goods into, through and out of the warehouse to the point of delivery.  Maintain focus on quality management systems and lean principles to ensure the company remains an efficient, low cost operator.

Requirements

The key responsibilities are:

•    Ensure that warehouse operational costs are maintained within budget guided by the Warehouse Manager.
•    Provide regular and ad hoc operational reports as requested by the Warehouse Manager.
•    Get involved with Recruiting, induct, train, and learn the importance of retention of staff of the required number and calibre.
•    Continuously assess warehouse staff with Warehouse Manager
•    Ensure all training requirements are met and regularly reviewed with Warehouse Manager.
•    Manage, support and coach in absence of Warehouse Manager.
•    Support in the Maintenance of inventory in line with budget.
•    Support in the Maintenance of fleet  operations in line with legal requirements and EHS and transport policy
•    Work alongside Warehouse Manager in Managing workplace and equipment in line with legal requirements and EHS policy
•    Ensure all staff focus on the customer and find ways to meet customer needs converting business strategy into practical day to day activities
•    Support the Warehouse Manager in Instilling  a customer service ethic  throughout the warehouse and ensure that queries are dealt with efficiently
•    Ensure customer service level meets company objectives, through measuring and taking corrective action where necessary

•    Support he Warehouse Manager, in managing the customer’s contractual requirements, requests and concerns quickly and efficiently, and get involved in Maintaining,  and protects current customer relationships. Monitors and manages customer service performance against objectives
•    Listens and understands the immediate requirements.
•    Conveys thoughts, information and proposals clearly.
•    Proactively communicates with Warehouse Manager, keeping them informed
•    Plans team projects, works effectively identifying goals, timelines, milestones and resources needed.
