Technical Consultant

Our client requires a Technical Consultant, in the London area within the IT sector to join their team. To be considered for this role, you must have 3 or more of the following relevant skills: 

• Cisco UCS Server platform (deployment and configuration experience on B and C Series)
• HP Blade, BCS (deployment and configuration experience)
• VMware Expertise (VCP min, ideally also covering BC or Vcloud exposure)
• Cisco SAN fabric implementation (ideally with HP or EMC storage experience)
• Backup & recovery (e.g. Veritas Netbackup/EMC Networker)
• UNIX (HP-UX, Linux)

Given the technical knowledge required, the successful candidate will hold one or more vendor certifications (e.g. MCSE, HP ASE)

The suitable candidate must have a minimum of 5 years experience working within a relevant IT environment, along with having significant experience of delivering fee-paid consultancy in at least three areas of IT specialisation.

Our client is looking for a Technical Consultant with a high level of understanding of features, strengths, weaknesses and positioning of key competitive products relative to area of specialisation along with having significant experience of the Selling and Buying cycles. For this position, specific duties and consultancy delivery shall include (but not be restricted to the following activities) being involved in the:

• Systems Installation and Start-up Services
• Operating System Upgrades
• IT Audit
• Major IT implementation projects including SAN
• Systems Management
• Performance Analysis/Systems Tuning
• Network planning , design & implementation & Capacity Planning
• System Architecture Planning & Design
• High Availability Solutions Design & Implementation
