Bailey Finch Recruitment Specialists are delighted to assist our client with the role of Assistant Manager within this fantastic group of prestigious pubs.

The role will involve; assisting the General Manger and in their absence, plan, organise and manage the pub/restaurant activities, so as to maintain and develop sales, customer service standards, development of staff and deliver  responsibilities in line with Company policies and objectives.

Planning, organising and Managing the restaurant activities

Assist the General Manager and in his absence from site, manage the planning and organisation for the effective running of the Pub/Restaurant, setting clear targets and delegating responsibilities to the Duty Management and staff.
Assist the General Manager in the organisation and maintenance of resources.
Assist the General Manager in the maintenance of the upkeep and safe condition of the premise, equipment and environment.
Assist the General Manager in the carrying out of site inspections and take action on findings, reporting required actions to the General Manager.
To actively support the General Manager in meeting the action points identified from internal Audit / Inspection.

Cost control and Sales
Assist the General Manager in the management of costs at the site: maximising sales and minimising waste/costs
Proactively respond to customer  requirements and seasonal demands in line with Company Policy
Assist the General Manager in the meeting of sales, wage, and operational targets.
Actively, in line with Company Policy, contribute to developing the business activities  and turnover

Communication
Assist the General Manager in the creating and maintaining a work environment that encourages communication.
Provide communication to Duty Managers and Staff on company standards, values, targets, and events
Attend weekly Managers meetings, chaired by the General Manager
Keep team informed and updated on key issues and developments.

Staffing
Assist the General Manager in the selection and recruitment of staff that are engaging, efficient, articulate,  and well presented
Assist the General Manager in the planning for and overseeing of adequate rotas and staffing levels, considering skills mix and business needs.
Promote a culture that encourages employee participation, a professional approach, open communication, a fun exciting workplace
Assist the General Manager in the planning for and development of staff competency through training, coaching, monitoring and appraisals.

Legal compliance
Assist the General Manager in the Planning, organisation and management of Food Safety and Health and Safety standards in line with Company policies, procedures; monitoring compliance in all departments
Assist the General Manager in the management and response to action points raised from inspections and audits
Comply with Trading standards and Licensing requirements and instructions
Assist the General Manager in the creation and maintenance of an environment for continued improvement and development.
